Smeg is an Italian company which was created in the 1940s by Vittori Bertazzoni. Smeg is actually an abbreviation – Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, which literally means metal enamelling factory in Guastalla.

Smeg is renowned for its range of retro-looking fridge freezers, freezers and ovens, which are famed for coming in a wide range of colours. However, Smeg has expanded its range of kitchen appliances to include microwave ovens.

Smeg’s mission is to produce unique appliances that are aesthetically perfect and adhere to the highest safety standards. As part of Smeg’s corporate philosophy, the company vows never to forget “that even the smallest detail merits our attention”.
